Pond Linder & Water Proofing Liners

Pond lining is a smart and essential method for storing water in today’s agriculture. The water requirement is calculated on the basis of desired yield, area cultivated and rotation of crop throughout the year. This gives us an insight into annual water requirement. This also gives an idea about the probable shortfall of water in high temperature summer season and to provide for water shortfall.

Nav Bharat Agro Agency in last 20 years, have successfully completed hundreds of pond lining projects all over Maharashtra. These projects were completed by providing pond lining of 250 to 300 GSM cross laminated multi-layered films which are a better option than using HDPE woven plastic sheets available. These 250/300 GSM films are made in collaboration with Swiss company and is a patented technology. The film consists of 6 thin films that are bound together with cold roll method which ensures complete water proofing by the film when installed.

The pond is prepared for lining with the help of proper slope, cushioned with soft soil or sand. The size of the pond is decided on the basis of calculation of water requirement for dry season. Post digging of the pond, the film is layered in the pond. The ends of the film are anchored in the trenches which are on the top edge of the pond. The pond is then filled with rain water, or with water available from natural sources nearby such as river or well.

We have also undertaken pond lining projects in which 300 GSM film is sandwiched between bricks or RCC walls of the tank making the water proofing last for a lifetime. Another way of using water proofing films is to water proof the terraces, balcony or basement of a building.

This application is more cost effective than chemical water proofing and has longer life to it making it last more than 30 years.
